New Model Publication Scheme
As you may be aware, all parishes have to adopt the New Model Publication Sceheme ready for its implementation on 1 January 2009. We have produced a web template (several pages) of the publication scheme. We will populate these pages to your site. They will appear hidden. You are free to use, amend and adapt these pages to the circumstances of your own parish. You will be able to add in information on the relevant page or put in a link to where that information already exists on your site. Browse this template of pages and get back to admin@leicestershireparishcouncils.org with any questions.
The template is offered freely. It is up to you whether you choose to use or ignore it.
Below the template you will find a link to a reference page containing various documents about the Model Publication Scheme from the office of the Information Commissioner (you should already have these).

Click link to view the template for the publication scheme. The top page only requires the insertion of the date you adopt the scheme. The dependent pages contain two guidance paragraphs (one for councils and one for meetings). You will then need to add the data or link to other pages or documents to complete the page.

The web manual was completely revised with extensive new entries in May 2008. You can tell it apart from the old one by the green front page header and green page footer with the revision date on. Chapters 5 & 9 (Services Page, and Additional items) are NEW.

Parish domain name - ordering documents
Does your local council wish to take advantage of creating their own ‘.org.uk’ website name and be able to have emails to that address? Such as www.myparish.org.uk and clerk@myparish.org.uk.
Having your own domain names makes it easier for people to find your site and gives you a professional looking email address.
Once your parish council/meeting has approved the low cost of £40 + Vat for a two year period, you simply need to complete the attached order form.
